ABOUT ALTUS

Head Coach Ryan Eastbourne

Why Altus exists?

Altus Performance was built for people who refuse to accept that the demands of life should come at the expense of their health.

For many adults, the reality of work, family and responsibility slowly erodes the structure that once made training consistent and rewarding.
Fitness becomes sporadic, nutrition becomes reactive, and performance suffers, not because motivation disappears, but because life becomes more complicated.

I built Altus to restore that structure.

As a coach, athlete and someone who deeply values physical capability, I’ve always believed that health should support the life you want to live, not compete with it.
Strength, endurance and resilience shouldn’t be reserved for elite athletes. They should be accessible to anyone willing to commit to improving themselves.

Altus was created to make that possible.

What We Aim to Achieve

5 Star Review Head Coach Ryan Eastbourne

At its core, Altus exists to help people rediscover what their bodies are capable of.

Many of the individuals we work with are ambitious, driven people balancing careers, families and responsibilities.
Over time, training becomes inconsistent, nutrition loses structure, and performance begins to decline.

Our aim is simple: restore the systems that make progress possible.

Through intelligent programming, practical nutrition guidance and structured coaching, we help people rebuild their physical capacity and confidence.
Whether the goal is running your first race, building strength, improving endurance, or simply feeling capable again, our coaching provides the framework to make it happen.

We focus on developing well-rounded athletes, not just people chasing numbers on a scale. Strength, endurance, discipline and mindset form the foundation of everything we do.

The real goal is long-term capability: the ability to perform physically, stay resilient and maintain a high standard of health while continuing to show up for work, family and personal ambitions.

My story

In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt, I found myself reflecting on the direction my life had taken. After seven years working in professional kitchens, enduring fourteen-hour days in hot, cramped and relentless environments, I realised something had to change. I had reached the point where I knew I wanted more, more purpose, more fulfilment, and a career where I could genuinely impact people’s lives.

Health and fitness was the natural path.

It was an industry where I could help people improve themselves, push individuals to become stronger and more capable, and challenge myself every single day to do the same. During the lockdown a period that was mentally difficult for many, myself included. I committed fully to that change. I completed my personal training qualifications and began working as a coach at The Gym Group.

Over the next two years as an in-person personal trainer, I found real satisfaction in helping people transform their health and confidence. But the deeper I got into coaching, the more I realised I wanted to understand the body on a much deeper level. I wanted better knowledge, stronger foundations, and a more complete understanding of performance and recovery.

That pursuit led me into massage therapy and a role as a physiotherapy assistant at  Eastbourne’s highest-rated clinics, 4Front Physiotherapy. During my time there, I developed a far deeper understanding of anatomy, injury rehabilitation and how the body truly functions under stress and recovery.

Yet even then, something still felt incomplete.

I realised that what I truly wanted was to bring all of those experiences together, coaching, rehabilitation knowledge, performance training, and real-world life demands into something of my own.

That is where Altus was born.

The word Altus comes from Latin, meaning higher or deeper. For me, it represents the constant pursuit of more, more capability, more resilience, more discipline and more potential.

Altus is built for people who demand more from themselves. People who want to push beyond their current limitations, not just physically, but in the way they approach life.

Because the reality is that life is chaotic. Running a business, maintaining relationships, raising a child, managing careers and responsibilities, these things rarely leave space for structured health and fitness.

Altus exists to restore that structure.

It is built to support people who want to perform at a higher level, balancing strength, endurance and discipline alongside the realities of everyday life.

Because when structure exists, performance follows.

And when performance improves, everything else in life becomes stronger too.

"Altus is built for those who want more from themselves, not just in the gym, but in life."
